Hey all,
Happy to be here on the forum , looking forward to contributing as much as I can. I just picked up a '75 K5 Blazer, I'm going to need to tow it home via a towbar (going behind a big heavy C30 dually so it can handle it).
This dually is a a NP203 with fulltime 4wd (part-time conversion not done ...) and a turbo 350 auto transmission.
Have gotten a bunch of conflicting information on what to do with the driveshafts, on one forum post I found in search it said just disconnect the rear driveshaft from the rear axle, on another it said don't disconnect either, and on a third it said I need to disconnect both the front and the back from their prospective axles.
If I have to unhook I was planning on loosening the bolts where it hits the axle, sliding it back towards the transmission a half inch, and then using bailing wire to hang it up to the frame, I thinking this should keep any fluids from being able to escape from anywhere.
Any help is appreciated big time.
*** Note, just found the thread on towing with an NP203 in the tow section, I'd tried searching the site for hours the other night and hadn't turned anything up. Guess it's time to pull both driveshafts and away I'll go! ***
