Flatbeds....

I will see about uploading some more soon...

hopefully I'll be putting up the baddest one in about 3 months... ;)

Trail bed or flat bed? We've been building trail beds and a true flatbed kicks their butts for utility. If it's not dedicated to the trail, bring it up enough to clear the bigger tires or put some short fenders in it and keep it FLAT. Fill the dead space between the frame rails and the bed deck with something useful like a gas tank or tool box and run with it. I like our stuff but a true flat deck (like I have on my dually) would let me carry more stuff easily or even run a bike up there and so on. When we're on the trail it's nice having the CG as low as possible and it's as compact as possible and trail/camp gear is always small enough to be stowed easily in "cubbyhole" space. Even the crewcab trail bed stores enough stuff for a good day trip and with the tent on top it's easy for several people to camp out of it but you're doing it more like you're backpacking and less like you're truck camping.

I really like this one:

It needs storage built into the dead space above the frame rails and below the bed deck.

i like the expanded steel/ chevy logo deal... that lower forward storage is exactly what I'm doing...

That bed is exactly like I want to do on my CC...Still looks nice and has all its functionality.

This one was done really well. The area directly behind the cab and under the flat bed is IMO, a crucial area to making the bed have the feel it belongs to the truck.

Some others with tool boxes here and some have been blended with tube work as well but this one is nice.

great ideas...this really needs to be a sticky :waytogo:

I'm excitied for you guys to see what I come up with in a couple months for mine... I should be calling in a tube order for this on fri.. 7 sticks of 2" and a stick of 1.5...

Here's a couple military trailer flat beds put on a truck.
