i know it's a k5 forum but if you guys want i will start up my build thread on here. a lot of the things i'm doing to this rig can be used on most any build and about 80% of the parts are coming from a 77 gmc jimmy:D

so let me know if you all want to see it and i'll start posting pictures...

actually it's all buggy

here's the run down...i actually started this thing about three months ago. it started with unimog 404 portals and 42's. i decided to downsize cause i wanted a smaller wheeler. found a reproduction willys body for 300 bucks made of 1/8" sheetmetal! so now here she lies:

gmzz4 crate motor with hot cam and roller rockers (400+ horse)
built 700r4 tranny
tcase= n/a
14 bolt rear with disc's 5.13's detroit
dana 44 front 5.13's chromo's warn hubs locker=n/a
four link rear with bushings at axle upper heims lower 3" ballistic joints. links built from 1 3/4x.250 DOM with chromoly upper triangulation and 3/16 plat between
rear suspension is bags right now but i'm having fitment issues...to be continued

front is radius arms with all the same materials as the rear

wow, that thing looks like its gonna be a pretty sick wheeler. any plans to bolt in a D60 in the future?

no particularly. i actually love 44's. i've been wheeling on them my entire life and they've been good to me! (besides the unimogs...which are not good to anyone!! haha). this thing is light weight so i'm not even worried, plan on 38" MAX for tires

i have kind of an ironic story...i have 400hp and 38s, and i just blew up an axle this weekend:wink1: but my truck a little heavier, i was 3 wheelin and it came down at about 1/2 throttle...oops!

but i cant wait to see this thing being built!:waytogo:

yeah i ran this motor and 38.5's on my blazer truggy but it was only 4800lbs, i did the math and i came up with 2800lbs so to be safe lets just say 3000k, still that's super light!!

you know what you all could help me with is t-case suggestions...driver drop and clockable! i am thinking about a 205 cause i LOVE them with a klune-v in front but it will be too long...anyone have any suggestions

this is my first non-chevy build

the only other T case maybe shorter then a 205 i can think of is a dana300? but i dont no anything about them

my buddy is coming over today, he is a low rider builder, owns twisted minis, and we are gonna work on a bell crank design to get the travel and twist i need out of the airbags

got my airbag situation pretty much solved, i'm going to start working on the crank bell (hinging suspension) tomorrow when i get some tube

I saw it on some other site, I thought it was pirate, but it must be a different one. Which ever one it was on, I'd rather see it here. :waytogo:

oh yeah it's on one other site. my roots are k5 though so being that this is a k5/flatfender/whatever i thought it would fit in nice here. plus everyone should be able to take some tech and fab info from it.

for those who don't know what a bell crank suspension

hey all, haven't had much money or time so i haven't go much done lately. i got the body back so i can remount it/finish mounting it and start building the cage. next prchase it going to be either some suspension parts or a transfer case. here's a quick cage idea i came up with last night, a little overkill, i'll be shedding some bars off of it for the final product...
