flexablility ??'s

And I just took the diesel to the scrap yard :yikes: I believe the 3/4 had 52's in the rear also. :dunno: anyway thats a long story in itself. Maybe I should take Kelly's jetta to the scrap yard too. lol It's just sitting there. Anyway. I thik you are right on the 2" steve. I think on my 81 w/ 6" lift there was still a stock driveshaft under there  Surprised I didnt snap that the same day i did the rear ujoints while drag racing. LOL  the parts list has grown rapidly for this project idea. All the better for spending more time working on it and making both it and I happy. :waytogo:

LOL, the way I look at it is the more grunt effort, time, and money you put into it, the more you will enjoy it when you"finish" it.
good luck!

I think the 52" springs pushes the axle forward 2" i think!
LOL yeah you could find another pair of 52's... something I need to look into soon too...
You will also have to either lengthen or get a new driveshaft because of the 4" of lift, and the 2" forward of the axle.

Stock fronts are symmetrical and 47" eye to eye. Center bolt is at 23.5"

Stock 52's are also symmetrical, center bolt at 26".

Most everyone moves the front hangers up a set of holes. This moves the front eye of the spring 4" ahead in relation to the stock location. The axle should be 1.5" forward from stock when all is said and done.

Couldn't have said it better myself steve! :waytogo: Trucks really apreciate all the time you spend with them both driving/playing and working on them.

now when I go to put a set of 52's under the front, does that use the same shackles as it normally would in the rear?

You will have to make a longer shackle so when you flex the front, the shackle doesn't hit the frame. I don't know the length, but I think 7.25" is what I heard for when making a new shackle...
