I am installing flexalite cooling fans on my 1991 Blazer. 5.7l auto, I am using the Variable Speed Control unit. I need to join a wire onto a circuit that is controlled by the ignition, powered by the ignition(in the same aspect as a remote turn on for an amp from a cd player head unit) I need to find a good circuit to mooch some power from, are there any recomendations?

There should be a few open spots on the fuse pannle that are ignition hot. I know there is atleast one on my 87. Get down there with a test light and cycle the key a few times.

You need the "key on" power to run the variable speed module? Does this module take the place of the relays?

yes i do need the "key on" position to run the variable speed control, and to my understanding it does take the place of the relays

if it takes place of the relays and the fans want to draw some decent amperes, maybe it would be good to put in another relay, so it will only need the signal from ur fuse panel and draws the real power it needs for the fan motors from the battery...unless the speed control u have already has another power wire just for that, acting like a relay.

That's where I was going with my other post.
