is this supposed to happen? i don't think so. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif they were tight but this happened. why? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
MY P/U used to do the same thing before i replaced the body mounts . what is happening is that since the body is so heavy and plus all froce from being flxed out it is trying to pull the rubber through the bolt hole .the bottom mount is getting squished flatter than , umm something really flat haha . get poly ones .
Mine used to do the same thing when I had a body lift. They are inheritly evil and are only designed for lift. Not for a true trail rig IMHO. I dumped my body lift and I haven't had trouble since. The damn thing just cause the body to have so much flex under those conditions.
i kept the old ones ( i know, i know) but it did this before the body lift too but it's just worse now. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif would polys fix this?
hmmmm how do i order a set of polys without my dad knowing? i use my buddy's card to order them from his house tomorrow! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif hehehehehe
hehe, thats the oldest trick in the book to get somebody to let you buy something new... break it, then you have to buy new stuff /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
i put a body lift one my p/u when i put on the poly mounts , i made the b/l myself but i accidentaly made it 3/4 instead of 1 inch hahaha . probly for the better tho . doesnt seem to affect much really . p/u and k5s are a lot different on the trail since the cab and bed flex seperatley . my truck is a noodle compared to a k5/sub . /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
I pulled the nut through the bottom spacer on the body mounts when I was flexing the burb last year...I assume it'll only get worse with that 3" body lift that's in the mail... /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif
I still have no complaints about my bodylift. So far it's done a great job of keeping the body off the 38's. I did the Energy Suspension body mounts the same time I did the body lift.
That is fairly common. I have pulled that bolt through both sides of my core support. Now after much beefing and welding on the core support I trash the rubbers about every other season. But then I am really hard on mine flex wise. I like the chest high boulders. As long as a burb is I would think that is normal. If you put poly on it you will most likely start to wrinkle fenders and inner fenders if you continue to flex it hard. I just put big washers on top and bottom of mine and call it good. Just dont look at it when it flexes and you will have more peace of mind /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
