I've got one of these:

not quite the same...do you have Northern Tools up by you ??
Man,,I can't leave that place without spending 250-300 dollars  :D:D

That one claims ~22" lift... the Craftsmans in the $100-$150 range are about the same. If that HF one isn't a typo, that's pretty wild.

Like all HF stuff, it's cheap, but no worse than your parts store cheapo you had before... and you can get service parts for it down the line if you wanna rebuild it. (Might not be cost effective, might be cheaper just to replace it, but it's always an option.)

Got one, love it. I have been using it for a couple of years with no issues. It is long if storage is a concern, but it will actually pick up my suburban without using cinder blocks/wood/brick or any of the other stuff that people use to raise their jack.

see, thats what I'm talking aboot. I ain't to worried aboot storage... I can find a place for it somewhere. My K5 will prolly never see the garage again once the 44s are on anyway. waaaay to tall to fit.

think I am gonna have to bust out the 15% off coupon and snag one of em...

i have one...its great...i can lift a rear axle up hi enough to put in the bed of a k20 w/33s....if you get one go ahead and buy yourself a set of 12 ton stands also..

I have that one also. It works well. The only drawback of it is that you must be on flat/level ground to use it. The sides on the lifting part are thin and will lean over if the jack is not on level ground.

I have 4 of their biggest jack stands also. 79.99 a pair. BEEF.

Yep, those 12 tons are the shiznit. The jack will lift just high enough to clear them. And if you guys are not on the HF mailing list, go to the website and get on it. They e-mail out great coupons.

X2, but I already told you that once http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214865

:D:D:D

Mine is still going strong after using it to manhandle the D60/D70 combo.
Oh, and don't pay more than $100 for it. That is the normal "sale" price.

Have you tried refilling the oil. I have a jack that bleeds out slowly and needs to be refilled.

Im thinking about building my own jack stands. I know the 12t ones are beefy and pretty tall... but if you want to put a rig with 44s up on stands (by the frame, not the axles)... you need some taaaaaaallllllll stands.

Mine lasted about a year and a half before the seals blew out. The handle return spring broke at about 6 months.

My wife bought me a Sam's Club jack that is similar branded by Michelin. It has been good so far with over a years worth of use. I think they are priced in the mid $50-60s.

I have the michelin jack too and it is bad ass. I work in the dirt and it works just fine. I have a piece that goes on top of it though that makes it about 5" taller than the one that comes with it and that makes it even better. I can lift up the axles 49's on them from anywhere. I dont have to use blocks of put it under the diff.

Here you go. If you lived aroun here I'd let you borrow them.

Since we're talking about tall jacks do you ever have problems with the sweep of the arm? As the jack moves up it's also arching back towards the handle. So lets say you put the back axle on jack stands and move the hydraulic around to the front. With such a long arm the arch or movement of the plate would be greater and I wonder if that's a concern?

those stands are bad ASS! :thumb: Thats the kinda thing I'm talkin' aboot for height. A big 4x4 needs something like those if you have big meats and need to get the frame up in the air. Even the 12t ones from HF ain't gonna be nearly tall enough unless you put them on top of something (prolly not the best idea!).

btw, someone's rich! dually with big meats and a magtec diff cover? BLING! ;) :thumb:
