I am about done with my roll cage, I just need to secure it to the floor of the cab, I am planning on putting a nice strong plate over and under floor. How thick should I make the floor plates and what size bolts should I use. I want it strong but I don't want to overdo it either, I don't have a drill press and making big holes in thick metal plate with a hand drill is no fun.

no thinner then 1/4"

Thanks, thats what I thought, sucks drilling the holes with the hand drill, thinking about just taking the plates to a shop and tell them to drill all the plates for me. I am thinking about using 3/8" bolts.
