Replacing the floors in my 78 k5 blazer and I purchased all the repair panels from LMC. The floor is all rotted out and have no reference but I know where all the panels go except one. I don’t know where the subfloor cab support gets installed. I’m not talking about the brace with the cages but in it that gets bolted to the frame, this piece is roughly 29 inches long and is basically just bent in an L with a kick up on the one end. If anyone knows where this piece goes, with pics, I’d greatly appreciate it. I attached a pic of the piece I’m talking about

Call LMC. They have people that answer questions like this. (I know, I did it once). P.S., Be forewarned, It might take them awhile.

It looks like #11

Assuming that’s a floor support (it also looks like an inner rocker to me, but if you’re sure about the part number/name then nevermind), it may be what’s pictured below that I outlined in red. I grabbed that pic from a ‘77 that sold on BringATrailer, which by the way is a pretty decent resource for stuff like this because they tend to post very high quality and numerous pics with their listings.

If it turns out the part is an inner rocker, by chance, I wouldn’t get hung up on not knowing how/where it fits. My truck is an ‘85, but the pieces sold as inner rockers were radically different than the original panels and didn’t seem to actually fit anywhere. They had to be modified substantially to work, and had I not modified them, they would have put the floor/rocker in a spot that would have messed up the door fitment. In other words, if it’s an inner rocker, I’d basically ignore the diagram and the shape of the new part because it’s probably wrong.

Some of these reproduction pieces are such vague imitations of the originals that there are many stories of people just fabricating the parts. It's pretty likely you'll be doing at least mild modifications to all of the pieces.

I was not happy with my LMC panels when I did mine on my 78. Like Blue85 said they are very vague and I had to do quite a bit of modifications to make them work on mine.

I could not figure out exactly how the inner rockers were supposed to go together that I got from LMC. I managed to make them work on one side and haven’t got to the other side yet. Last week I saw some that AMD made . They are a complete inner rockers panel, not an inner rocker patch, like LMC sells.I like the way they looked in the picture,so I now have them in my garage.I haven’t opened the box yet to verify if they look like the picture. If they are made like the picture,I will be cutting the one I have done out and replace it.

The inner and outer rocker panels,I got from AMD fit together on the work bench good. I think they will work good and I will be happy with them ,when I install them on the Blazer. That will be in a few months when I Simi- Retire.

I had a guy bring me his cab to look at replacing the entire bottom 6 inches. I told him I would not use LMC stampings. AMD only. He did not like the extra cost. But it would have saved more money on labor.:doah:
