Just want to say I just signed up a few days ago and I've enjoyed reading all the different topics.

My current dilemma is that I'm trying to decide which type of floor to put back in my '89 blazer. I have the existing carpet, but I want to replace it with something a little more durable. I'm a big fan of the line x flooring and I've gotten a few opinions for the rubber flooring from lmc. I'm just looking for opinions from people with first hand knowledge. I'm worried about the noise factor. The big wheels. The big exhaust. The lack of sound deadening in the floor. Does the line x quiet anything? The rubber?

Any help is appreciated guys. Thanks

I can't give a review per se since mine's not done yet. But I'm bedlining my entire floor and replacing the carpet and sound deadener in the forward cab. The cargo area will be bare bedliner. When I pulled my carpet out of the back, it didn't have any matting underneath it so I figured it wasn't providing much sound deadening anyway.

I've read other posts on here where people complained about the heat in the front with no carpet. That's my primary reason for replacing the carpet. Noise-wise, between the tires, exhaust, etc - it's a lost cause on mine to try to soundproof it.

so far i have just bedlined my interrior, firewall to tailgate and bedsides like a pick up. all i put back in was the dash and seats no carpet or pad, and i from my experience is it IS quieter. i now want to put something over it too. the floor mats dont stay, and its slipery when wet or snow covered. im debateing new carpet or the rubber matting also but not sure which one i want yet. i am going to spend the extra $ and put down dinomat or something like that first.

for me the difference between bedlined and not is befor i had it done i could not talk on the phone and drive, it was to loud, and now its not to bad.

Hmm

Appreciate it guys. I'm starting the stray from the Berliner. It's a little more expensive too. Is it possible to put dynomat underneath the rubber? Do you just glue it and then glue the rubber matting to that?

I Line X'd my interior. The noise isnt much more than without. Its a truck, not a luxury car. There is a lil more heat that comes thru the floor, but Im using industrial rubber matting as floor mats. I tried the LMC rubber mat, one wrong cut and you will throw the entire thing off, ask me how I know. lol.

Before......

After..........

Im very happy with the results, IMO, it was worth the money. Even the DIY stuff works well at a fraction of the cost. One issue with carpet or rubber mat, you can still get water/moisture under the material and it could mildew, rot, etc

In my experience if you go with bedliner, at least the DIY stuff, you should top coat it. When I did my K10s cab in herculiner it came out great but I never top coated like they recommend because I said **** it its not gonna bake in the sun like a bed. Well after the raw bedliner looses its gloss from all the contact it likes to hold on to dirt, really bad and gets stained.

I strongly believe a top coat would have prevented this.

I like carpet with quality floor mats in a daily driver wheeler. I like the carpet stuff enough I am gojng to put carpet ( outdoor marine grade stuff) in Horton. Just makes it feel nicer. Carpet with the extra pad I think dead end sound way way better than bed liner. I thought the bed liner interiors were just barely better than bare steel. If h oh do nice bed liners like line x or rhino it is better than diy stuff but only a bit

yes you can dynomat under a rubber floor mats. or one of the dynomat alternatives would be cheaper. jegs has one with their own name brand that the same thing and MUCH cheaper. id dynomat/carpet and use a set of the custom molded style floormats that catch water. may be a little more expensive but itll do everything your looking for.

mats like these from autoanything or somewhere

Hello there fellow neighbour :) Take a look at Travall.ca, they have quite a wide range of car specific rubber mats and boot mats.

I Line-X'd 15+ years ago and it's still perfect. I wouldn't say it's quiet, but that's not what I'm going for. It's more of a utility deal and I don't need to worry about stains or water soaked carpet rotting the metal. I pulled the cardboard sides in the back too. No regrets.
