Hey guys, Im about to redo my exhaust, Ive gotten tired of the sound, and Im lookin at the Super 40s or the new Super 44s. I cant find a soundclip worth a dang of the new 44s, except on 4.6 mustangs  Anyone have any experience w/ the 44's?

This is the only Super 44 thread I can find. I'm thinking about buying a pair of these babies myself to put behind a 6.2L diesel with 3" open duals. They've been out a while now, so if anyone has some more input on them I'd appreciate it!

I don't know about the 44's but my 40 delta flows are very quiet. I'm actually a little dissapointed they aren't louder but they do keep my neighbors happy. :D

can't remember what i have. think they are 40's myself. they sound a little quiet but i like em. they could stand to be a little louder

That's funny that you guys say that about the 40s. Mine drove me nuts. They were too loud, IMO. I suppose it depends on motor and overall exhaust design. :dunno:

40's are loud and 40 delta flows are mellow, there are two types of 40's. :D

And where is the 44 relative to the standard 40 in terms of sound level...? If you go by their general way of numbering 44 would be somewhat quieter, no? And what about difference in sound pitch? The Super 44 "is the most aggressive, deepest sounding street and strip muffler Flowmaster has ever made" according to themselves. How true is that? Basically I wanna get as far away from a diesel sound as possible and to more of a big block kinda sound, but I'd still prefer not to have my ears ringing after long highway trips. ;) Generally I'm interested in hearing from others who have tried them how they deliver before ordering my own.

I would guess you can safely bet they'll be pretty loud just based on the physical size of the muffler. It's a pretty small muffler. Generally the smaller it is the louder it is.

I guess mine are delta flow 40's because even with the long tubes and duals all the way back, I think it is very quiet.Nothing like my tahoe when it had a 40 series anyways

Just put a single 3" 44 on my '89 CC doesnt seem to be all that loud. I have dual 2.5" 40's on a jeep with a warm 350 and its loud as hell same size 12" case as the 44 I believe. The CC is a stock TBI motor with only a 14x6" K&N filter.

I have a 44....It is a real deep and burly sound but not near as loud as the super 40's. It almost sounds like a delta....they are alot quieter in the cab also...It sounds great at idle but doesnt quite scream when you stomp on it like a 40...I am happy with it but I think i would perfer a 40....

the neighbor 2 blocks away complains when i come home in the middle of the night though so dont think they are too quite....

I think the motor does make a difference. I have a hopped up 350 too, and so far every exhaust I've installed has been too damn loud. I'm about to try some Magnaflows, and this time I got about the biggest muffler I could (the biggest one was back ordered). They are 5"x8"x24".
