I was changing the fluid in my Corporate 14 bolt rear end. I was wondering if there was anything in particular I should look at before closing her up. I bought this 71 k5 about 6 months ago and am steadily going through it. If I should check anything let me know. Also how can I verify the gear ratio while I have it open.

Thanks

you got Detroit locker I see.

and ring gear teeth divided by the pinion teeth count.

or roll the ring gear around till you find the ratio stamped in the gear .

41-10 = 4.10 and so on .

I would just check the ring and pinion for good pattern, and no chips or cracks on the teeth...roll it a few times to "feel" the bearings and backlash (will seem a bit sloppy for the spec'd play) and if good put it back together...no posi additive w/ the Detroit, but I do like Lucas oil!

I live in Charlotte, NC. So I call it Panther Blue. I can check the exact name when I get home tonight.
