hi all i am looking the right flywheel cover. i ordered one from classic industries and it was to short. the flywheel blew threw the cover.
any ideas 74 chevy truck 350 and 350turbo tans not sure what to get thanks.

Got a pic of the damaged cover?

Regular trans case or "HD" case? Tin converter cover or thick aluminum?

You really only have 3 reasons; 1) wrong part 2) excessive crankshaft end play 3) improper installation.

Ok, on your searches, you probably want the cover for a 168 tooth flywheel it sounds like. That would have been original equipment on all the pre '88 vehicles
Looks like the one listed above is for a retro fit, newer engine on the older transmission

Doesn't say 168 tooth, but does say "direct replacement"

The correct one will be made of tin, not plastic. I am fairly sure I have one on the last parts truck I took apart.

Many cars in the 60's and 70's had the smaller 153 tooth flexplate and that's generally who buys those covers.

Personally I've never seen the need for them so I leave them off. I only bother reinstalling the later aluminum ones that double as a mount for bracing.
