I'm putting a new motor in my 83 K20. The flywheel has 6 bolts and a spot for a dowel/spring pin. I don't have a spring pin and cannot find one from the Zone and other local shops.

Does anybody know if I have to use the spring pin? I'm thinking I do.

Also anybody know where to get one? Last option is Napa tomorrow.

Thanks for any advice.

Most cranks DO NOT have the dowel there. That was mainly used with high HP engines from the late 60's and also again with the 1 piece rear main seal engines. It's not needed, don't worry about it.

dont forget the new imput bushing in the end of the crank. if you were correct in saying flywheel as to man tranny. lots of people get mixed up.
