Anyone ever run across a flywheel with "F" stamped into the clutch surface?

It's a later one piece rear main flywheel, factory (GM) new but from a swap meet, and the F is stamped near the outer edge near the pressure plate bolt holes, but an area still covered by the clutch material.

Dad got it for me years ago, and it was covered in some ridiculously tough black paint that I left on over the years to prevent rust. Got it all off today, and while it's got a few small gouges in it that don't bug me, the F has me worried that maybe it is a factory ID of a flywheel that was deemed bad after manufacture.

The surface is flat, the machining marks from initial turning are intact, but I don't want to take a chance on the new motor, and a new clutch that warranty requires it be installed with a new/turned flywheel.

The ~$60 new flywheels run isn't going to kill me, but I hate to not use this one, assuming it may be bad, without actually knowing. Google search is turning up nothing of an "F" stamped flywheel, that I could find. No pictures, no mention.

Any speculation or actual insight is welcome. Even recommending a flywheel manufacturer if nothing else. Looks like autozone, closest place to me, carries Valeo brand, Rockauto has Luk which is actually cheaper than autozone.

And here I thought I'd be bolting this thing up tonight. :(

Any part # on it or casting numbers ?..
I've seen "N" for "nodular" casted on a few 60's flywheels..
Maybe "F" is a brand insignia or it stands for "forged" or something..:dunno:..

Did you see this on google ?...

The casting numbers are there, I ran them before he bought it, they are correct for a 12" one piece rear main motor flywheel.

Unfortunately without paying, apparently you can't view photos at NCRS, so not sure if he is talking about the same thing.

I know everyone loves photos. Not sure if this will work, my internet is being flakey, but it's the best I could do with a dumb phone. Ignore the squiggly line from the crook of the F, it's a scratch or something, not part of the stamping:

The "F" may mean "face"...like flywheel faces towards this side or that.
