Just checking out if anybody out there is interested in taking my 1989 V3500 off of my hands. The truck is solid and fully equipped with loads of little extras, and I've spent a lot of time fine tuning the sucker over the last year and fixing up a few minor deficiencies(there are very few left to deal with). The body is 9.5 out of 10, and the interior is about a 9 out of 10. The truck only has 59K miles on it!!!

Now that the K5 is gone, I need to buy a truck that can share summer towrig and winter "family truck" duty, as I'm forced to park the V3500 6 months of the year due to the fact that the body is virtually perfect, so I refuse to drive it in the winter.

If I can't sell it, I'll be keeping it for sure, but it's time to explore other more practical options. I bought the truck for $9500 a year ago(plus travel and out-of-country inspection and tax expenses), and would like to get around $11000 so I break even, even though I've put an additional $1500 into it since.

Specs:

Silverado- power everything
Freshly rebuilt TBI 454 with highrise aluminum intake and a LOT of goodies
Freshly rebuilt TH400 with all the good parts and remote filter
NP205
D60 front with brand new brakes
D70 rear with brand new brakes
3" custom exhaust
Greasable ORD spring bushings throughout
Bilstein shocks
Michelin LTXs on Alcoa aluminum rims
Sliding rear glass
Spray-in boxliner with diamond plate tailgate cover and box rail ceovers
Custom front pushbar with remote floodlights

This truck turns heads everywhere it goes, and is a monster of a workhorse. If you have any questions, ask away. Here's a few pics:

I guess I should add that the truck comes equipped with a complete extra set of rims and tires with about 85% tread left on them, as well as a spare windshield and a MULTITUDE of spare miscellaneous parts.

So then what? If you sell this, you won't have a K-truck anymore. You won't be allowed on the site. Gonna get a Ford? Toyota? Traitor! :D :D :D

Because two winters worth of salt would kill an otherwise pristine body, and I'm not about to do that. I'll keep it parked in the garage forever and use it as a Sunday cruiser if nobody wants it and I'm forced to keep it. I'd rather do that then watch it die a slow, ugly death.

Anyone who really knows me knows I'm telling the truth.

Probably a Dodge with the Cummins.

Joining the crowd, eh? :wink1:

This is one fine truck and will make someone a saweeet daily driver. :pimp:

This might seem like a stupid question but what kinda gas mileage are you getting in that thing? I'm trying to decide if I should go deisel or gas because I need a tow rig but it will have to be used every once in a while as a commuter.

Sorry I couldn't wait Canman, I really wanted your truck, I am very pleased w/ mine, & the misses is happier since it is a srw. Good Luck w/ the sale.

You're killing me Can. I'm trying to save for a new house and you post this!

Is that price 11k Canadian dollars?:D

What does $11K CD translate to US dollars? $2500? If so, you take Pay Pal? :D

You really need to keep up on current events Wes. The Canadian dollar has been making steady gains against the US dollar for almost three years now. The popular opinion of those who know these things better than the average Joe is that the Canadian dollar will surpass the US dollar in value by years end...

Right now the approximate amount in US dollars is $10185.00

Yup. $11K Canadian, my friend.

I'm not trying to make money off of this. Like I said, if I break even I'll be happy. :thumb:

Man that would save like a grand right there! Don't make rob the bank:whistle:

My two cents....Here is how my new truck experience went:
1999 bought a 98 K1500 owned 1.5 yrs sold it bought an 86 K20(owned it 2x)
2001 traded 86 K20 for 98 reg cab K1500
2003 sold the 98 bought an 87 V20
2006 sold the 87 bought a brand new 06 lasted 8 months
sold the 06 and bought my 88 V30.

I have determined that I am much happier driving an old truck when I can and a beater(winter) when I have too. The old ones are sooo much more rewarding.:)

BTW: I am guessing you probably won't be needing that steering column? No worries I think I am going to keep it for a spare if you don't.
