Focking Thieves

Thats a real good why to get killed by one of his buddies...Its easy to say "do this" its alot harder to do it...

You are correct, but I see other people posting up you...should have done this or done that, so then I get beligerent and post up saying...f*ck it, take it to the limit and get mid-evil on them. :D

yeah, if there are multiple bad guys its not the wisest move to go out and get close enough to "stick a gun in someones face". This is why a dog is such a great thing to have.. you open the door quietly and the dog runs out first. With a rott/dobbie/shepard etc you can bet dollars to donuts that all the bad guys attention will be on the dog as you approach. When you get 15-20' away, thats when you challenge and make demands. Putting guns in peoples faces is for the movies. The great thing about a gun is that you can kill at long range. Getting within arms reach of a bad guy is a very dangerous proposition. Why take on the risk? From 20' away you have ALL the cards in hand. Ya never know when you might run into a car theif who has some really quick reflexes etc. I don't care if the guy is Bruce Lee though... if I'm 20' away and aimed in with a 12ga, he has no chance of getting to me. He could run and survive.. or surrender and get on the ground... but grabbing my weapon from me or rushing me is NOT going to work.

If you want to get a decent security system for a good price, go to Earmark Car Audio in Plano. I believe they do the best work in the metroplex (I trust them much more than Best Buy, Car Toys, etc.) and the Viper system with keyless entry on my K5 ended up being under $500. I know a good thief can get into pretty much any security system but I just wanted a little extra security since I have a decent stereo and often have a weapon due to my CHL (go to Bullet Trap for that one). In your situation I would have confronted the guy with my weapon and tried to get him to stay on the ground at distance while I called the police. If he came closer or seemed to pose a threat I would have shot him but if he ran would have left him alone. Texas law is pretty much on your side if you shoot someone at night due to our nocturnal mischief laws. Bear in mind that this is what I probably would have done and I'm not saying you did the wrong thing at all. Luckily nothing was stolen.

At 20 feet away, I would have threatened them with bird shot, and if they ran, they would be in the hospital picking out bb's, plus, you dont have to worry about what the rest of the shot hit as lethal range is limited.
