For 73-80 do you prefer two-tone or solid paint? I'm going to be having the K5 painted and I wonder if I should go with the two-tone paint along the sides.

For me it depends on the main color. Sometimes I like a solid color, other times a 2 tone looks good. Currently I own 4 squares and none of them are 2 tone lol. The 5th one at my house is also a solid color.

Look the old woman says...depends

The K5 had the adhesive trim molding on the side which trapped water and caused rust issues in the rear quarters. If I went two tone I would need to drill the body for the holes to mount the chrome trim pieces. It may just be a cleaner look and less likely to rust going with a solid color and no trim.

Tough question! Depends on paint quality and color appeal. My K5 is solid and I am well satisfied. But the two tone gives it a vintage appeal (i.e. 1970's) which may serve to ad some addition al value.

Two tone with factory colors is hard to deny. I did all black on my 79 K5 but debated going two tone.1725638690212.png
