We were checking into some discounted rates for the event and discovered a couple of the hotels are booked, Moab Valley Inn & Aarchview Inn for sure. Motel 6 had several rooms still available, but we didn't check any others.

At this point it's going to have to be a deal where you need to call and get a room where you can. And do it as soon as you can.

I made a reservation at the Bowen Motel, the rates were $74 (Thursday & Sunday), and $85 (Friday & Saturday).
Don't know yet whether there will be an AARP discount...:D

Motel 6 was $105/day, no difference for the weekend.
Nothing at Moab Valley In or Holiday Inn Express; Comfort Suites is $149/night, LaQuinta is $133.
Moab has something like 12.35% tax on top of the rate.

Anyways, here are a few links to accommodations in Moab.

Some sort of music festival I think. Which is why it wasn't on our radar or we would have jumped on the hotel situation sooner.

I checked - not much going on with the music festival. There seems to be one event on Sunday - Beethoven, two pieces for piano and viola at a private residence. Tickets are $200 ($150 tax deductable :D). Last event is Monday 09/14. Not sure that's it regarding motel occupancy.

If the music were different, I wouldn't mind going - imagine changing into suit and tie at the end of a trail run in order to make the concert...:D
