If my buddy put in a Ford D44 could he swap his hubs to get it back to 6-lug?

Ford D44 Hubs Swap for GM?

i think its a easy swap just check the spindel and see if its the same as the cheve if not then swap all chevy outers . possible stub shaft also. i know dana 60 is gm/dodge and ford different but dont know if same with 44.

Supposedly only 78/79 ford hubs would swap onto the later GM spindles (77-up). I am going to try this swap with my brother's heep.
(Edit) Opps, you're going the opposite direction. You may have to swap everything from the knuckle out.

For my bro's straight axle ('95 SAS) we swapped in a HP 44 (Ford Axle) and used everything from the knuckle out, including the outer shaft, from a chevy 44, it bolted right up.
