Ive got a 79 One Ton 4x4 Crew Cab and it has a DRW dana 60 in it but i plan on a cummins swap with a 5 speed how hard is it to swap a d60 from a ford to a chevy?

ill start looking but i got a friend that owns a wreaking yard and told me he would sell me one out of a late 80's to early 90's for 300

78 and 79 d60 fronts from f**d's have the perfect spring spacing for this swap, all the other year f**d d60's are a little different for mounting. One thing you'll want to do is swap the u-bolt configuration to a chevy style where the spring plate is on the top of the axle.

does anybody no how or if its possibly a way to turn a ball joint dana 60 to a king pin style???

sure, cut off the inner C's and send them to the scrap yard with the knuckles. Buy new Dedenbear inner C's and knuckles. weld the new C's on and install your new knuckles.

sounds a lot simpler then it really is. But don't forget that the the 4 parts you need are over $1000 and you also need 2 kingpins rebuild kits.

dedenbear/reid outer kingpin C's can be welded on the end of the axle tubes, but you have to get the other ones (ball joint) C's off. Im sure its expensive.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the ball joints IMO. If I had a ball joint front 60 I sure as hell wouldn't bother swapping it over.
