As my buildup of the Mog-9 axles continues along, I'm approaching a point where I need to buy the brake setup for the 8-Lug conversion.
The kit is from a company called eXaXt, and in their instructions they specify that I locate discs, calipers and caliper hangers from a:
1995 - 97 Ford 2WD E250 - 3/4 or 1-Ton truck (these are front calipers not rear)
I've also heard that people have successfully used 1998 parts as well.
My question for anyone with access to the parts books is:
1. Are the part numbers all identical between those years?
2. If there are different part numbers, which would be the most "common" parts to standardize my build on? I don't want to pick the 1-year-only caliper and have a harder time locating replacement pads and/or calipers later on.
3. Estimated pricing.... especially if it varies greatly between different years.
Any help would be great. I'm told that the caliper hanger bracket will be the hardest to locate, and I might need to go to a local Pick-N-Pull to find them.
