Ok, so what is the deal. I remember some fords have the distributor on teh front of the motor. In terms of 90's and older SBF's and BBFs, are all the distributors on the front?

What about chevy's? I know most SBC's are on the back, are all BBC's and SBC's rear distributor?

And to throw a wrench into the mix, what about 455 Olds? Front or Rear? Any other external EASILY distinguishable features?

I am looking at a lot of cheap 70's and 80's jet boats, and want to be able to identify motor brand by a glance at a quick photo.

Thanks guys!

Yay pictures. Thanks, that helps.

I am trying to find a SBC or BBC boat, way easier to find 454 parts than 455 olds or 460F parts.
