Hello,
Well one of my best friends has gotten the bug. He is going to start building a 351 next year. So we are going to see who can build the best engine. So I am looking to do a few things to the good old 350.
Here are the stats on both trucks:

"HIS"
1995 Ford F-150 4x4
302 soon to be 351
5 speed standered
I don't know what is in the rear end
But the truck is mostly stock

"MINE"
1986 K5 Blazer
Newer 350 (Not even 10,000 miles)
320HP (when stock) Gm performance engine
dual 2.5" FREE FLOW exhaust system
Edelbrock 650CFM
Edelbrock intake
Edelbrock fuel system and air celaner
Flowtech shorty headers
I was told the cam was played with by my step dad but I am not +.
Th350 with the Np-208
3.73 gears in the rear end.
I would like to build a engine that is around 390-450 Horse
I want it to have the biggest cam and heades I can with out killing the bottom end of the engine.
I was thinking along the lines of buyngs some heads like this set up and finding the best cam that will go with it.

Thanks

You would do fine just going with the setup the Edlebrock has, the matched one for the performer or rpm

Not really, Edelbrock camshafts suck. THeir heads are nice but there are better aftermarket options. Comp Cams or Crane are far better choices then Edelbrock.

Iron Eagle heads are nice but 200cc intake volume is too much for you. 180 would be better. 190 maybe. Need a bigger engine and more RPM to really justify 200cc.

ANy more specs on the motor? What heads it has now? What compression? What internals(forged or what)?

Which 351 is he going to use? Is he going to keep his fuel injection?

I was thinking that 200cc was a little on the big side.
I would like to use a comp cam. with Dart/Edelbrock, etc heads
My engine is mildly built. heads/cam/bottom end all stock.
Right now the compression is around 8:1
My 350 is really nutty right now. I am just after something that will be pushing a least 50-100 more HP then hist 351.
Both trucks have to act realy good on the street and when racing or mudding . Both engine have to stay legal. Hell both are basiclt DD. If I do a lot to the engine I will make the K5 into a weekend truck.
Thanks
Adam

I doubt he is going to spend a lot of money. I think he will most likly go with a 350HP fuel injected engine
Thanks
