Fornt gear replacment?

I have an 81 k10 sub I put a 14blt in the back and a 3/4 ton 10blt in the front. The 14blt already has 4.56 gears in it so I need to get the front regeared (it has like 3.08 or something in it). Do you have to remove the axles to put in the new gears? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Because if the axles do have to be removed I was going to go ahead and buy a rebuild kit and have it installed at the same time. Also I was wondering where a good place to buy a complete rebuild kit (bearings, seals, etc...)? I know about a couple places but was wondering if anubody has some experience in buying a rebuild kit, I am mainly worried about the completeness of the kit. I would like to buy the ring/pinion, install kit, and rebuild kit and do it all at once. THANKS for any help.

Yes you have to pull the shafts, and if you have to ask you probably shouldn't be setting up your own gears.

Since you don't have PM....That's cool. My wife's family is from there and my brother-in-law owns a shop called Cunningham Motor Works....mostly race stuff.
