Are we sure that it will fit onto my '82 6.2?
BTW, also found a 6.5 TD right side exhaust manifold for $50
Just won an ebay auction for a GM-6 turbo from a Hum-v for $103.50!
So far I am into this turbo conversion for $183.50 and that's all the major stuff. Just need crossover/downpipe, and ebay has a Flowmaster set thats like $100 for the pair.
But seriously, I need to be sure that the intake will bolt right up.
Also, once the turbo is installed, how do I know how much to turn up my injection pump?

daum! well scored on the parts my friend. Ive been looking to do a turbo on my 6.2 for a while and never saw anything like those deals. :eek1:

as for turning up the pump, youll need to double check me, but i believe its 1/4 turn to up the fuel for the turbo application. Banks has directions on the website i believe related to putting their sidewinder system on.

What vehicle is it off of? If it's a pickup/suburban it'll be fine. If it's from a van or HMMWV, then it's a rear-mount setup and won't fit in a pickup/K5/Burb.

The right way is to get a set of gauges (boost and pyrometer). Turn up the fuel until you're maxing the exhaust gas temp (EGT) at about 1100°F under a sustained heavy load (like a truck full of gear pulling a hill). You'll want to stay at/under 10psi boost with a stock 6.2L.

If you post a picture of the intake we should be able to tell you, or post this in the diesel forum. If the intake is what I think you have somebody just asked about it not too long ago and posted a picture.
