Hi guys. I was up in Flagstaff, AZ with my brother today helping him with a class trip he needed to finish. We stopped at the gas station and along one side of the parking area were a bunch of 4x4 vehicles and at the very end poking out I saw the rear end of a 73-91 GM truck. I walked over to investigate and found out it was a 73-74 Blazer with 'for sale' signs in the windows. I called the guy and he said the truck had a frame off resto in the early 2000's. The body, though, looked like its seen better days. It was in primer, but had surface rust and was rusting through on the fenders and rocker panels. The interior was amazing though. The engine is a corvette 427, but he says its been running super rough and probably needs to be rebuilt. Its got dual batteries, automatic, 4x4, swing away tire carrier, cb antenna, and snow plow. He said he was originally going to ask $3500, but since the engine is in bad shape he said he'd ask $2500. I wish I had $2500, or that he'd go down lower on the price... a lot lower...

Anywho, some pics:

he's lying about a frame off, so what else would he be lying about? things a POS..... he'd be lucky to get 5, 600 imo.... and only cuz it's full vert and a BB...

Yeah I was talking to my wife after showing her the pictures about how he said it hada frame off resto and I said 'with all that rust like that I highly doubt it, theres no way it would have rusted that fast in such a short time'

unless he let it sit in some salt water since the resto was done...

I told the seller that at that price, with a bad engine, and the fact Id have to bring it back to phoenix the price was too high. When he replied back asking what price I thought was better I just told him it'd be too low compared to what he probably wanted.

it's not even the rust coming thru the cheesy lacquer primer, holes, etc that gives it away, you can tell just by looking at certain things in the engine compartment that the truck has never been apart....

as a Joysey rust resident, I'm surprised to see a rig in that area with that kinda rust.. must have been brought out there by one of my neighbors.. :haha:

Aren't the lights on the front from a snow plow? That would account for the extra rust if they were salting as well.

ah, yeah, look on the dash too, looks like plow controls... actually looks like it's got a grill cover for cold weather going on too....

Yup, saw that as well. Without even seen in the frame I'll bet it's pretty rusted as well.

Yes, I mentioned the plow in my original post. I think the best part about this truck is the interior. If anything was worth buying in that truck its that. I wonder if he'd sell interior parts if he cant find a buyer...

I wouldn't. I shopped for a truck of those years just last lear, and you can find them w the the big tires and the whole show for 1000.00 if you look. Check the floor paels! Good luck!

Who does a frame off restoration of a plow truck and I'm betting that's not a 427 either. :haha:
