found a deal on a Powertank

You can build your own setup for well under that. I think I have $150 in my setup. 15lb tank, 90psi continuous regulator and coil hose.

Where can u get a regulator from and what kind do you need? I have two oxygen backpack tanks that I thought about using. Are there other parts needed besides a hose?

I got the regulator from www.offroadair.net $50

15lb co2 tank from http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/tanks/co2/C15.shtml $100

And the coil hose I allready had.

how well does a setup like that work? how many times can you air down and up before you are out of air (and what size tires are you running?)

Yeah, that's a question I'd like answered aswell.

It sounds like a good alternative to OBA if you don't have to dough to invest in OBA

Anybody got an idea on how much it cost to refill it?

I have a 20-lb tank and it cost me around $20 to fill it.

I'm using a beverage regulator from a draft beer setup on mine. It works, but it is slow. I think I need to invest in a better regulator.

why cant you just run a compressor (for like air ride suspention)and a tank...it seems like if it had enough air to lift up a car then it would be enough to fill tires up..

It would probably take forever to fill a tire.

I bet you could get those bottle from your local gas place for cheap than 100 dollars like the one in ceguses link.

Although that one is nice and aluminum.

I have a 20Lb tank with adjustable hi-flow regulator.

I have a total of $15 into it. The only cost was the air hose and fittings.

I would never pay $300 or anything even close to that.

Yea, look for used CO2 tanks or SCUBA tanks. I saw a cheap regulator (new) on the internet but I goofed on bookmarking it:(

How about nitrogen? Isn't it the new bling for tires? I wonder what it would cost and what the advantages are supposed to be?

Wait...you can use co2 to fill tires?!:eek1: :doah: where the hell have i been!

I have a 50lb tank that i use to fill my paintball tanks...kinda too big to put in the blazer safely though.:(

I don't know about nitrogen but the co2 is liquid in the tank and comes out as gas and that would let you fill a lot more.

I doubt nitrogen is. It would be at like -400* :haha:

Actually...nitrogen is a "new" hting for tires. Something about it stays inflated longer and doesnt change with the weather.

I'm pretty sure if you are just using air you can use just about any tank as long as you bide by the PSI rating. I don't know about using CO2 or putting Hydrogen, nitrogen or any other gas (methane? :haha::haha::haha:) in like a CO2 tank. Certainly a non-flammable gas would be best. So no beans in the morning to air back up in the afternoon!

I like where this thread has gone. :waytogo: some good tech here. to the guys with homemade systems, can you run air tools off the tank like with a powertank? I assuming yes. :dunno:
