81 Jimmy, Fresh 355, SM465/208, 10 bolt front (open). 12 bolt rear (open) both with 2.73:1 gears. 4" Rancho lift and rolling on 33"x 12.5" BFG MT's on white spoke 15x10's. IIRC it had new carpet at the time.

Still an 81 Jimmy (barely) 6.2 diesel, SM 465/205, D60 front (open), C14 FF rear with Detroit, 4.56:1 gears, rear disc's, anti wrap bar and rolling on 39.5" TSL's...carpet is long gone /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yeah, the looks on his face tells it all. Something about having an old chevy, with 250K miles, and then taking that and putting 39.5's on it and crawling over rocks is intriquing.

My buddy that took the pic caught me unawares...I was just sitting there at the end of Lower Helldorado taking it all in when he snapped the pic.

The only parts of the truck that still exist today (that can be seen in the pic's) are the windshield, hood, and roof. The frame is the same too...but every other part has been replaced, some of them multiple times.

hell man, some day ine will be done. we got outs within a few months of each other as well. didnt think it had been that long.

I swappped in a 6.2 diesel a little over a year ago. Definitely my best mod so far IMHO.

Duh, missed the 6.2L diesel thing. I want to make my 350 into a 383 with headers and what not. I'd like to go diesel, but not sure I have the time for the changeover.

Mine was a '3' dressed up as a '9' by some car lot. The brand new carpet was only there to hide the rotted floors among other things. 6 months after that pic the rockers had gaping holes in them, there were holes over the rear wheels, and the drivers door skin had separated. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

I'm over it now Harry...but at the time I was very ticked off. Also found out the truck had been rolled about 8 or 9 months after I got it. You should see the sledge hammer dents in my roof /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif They were hidden by the headliner.../forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
