Looking for the brake light switch that the brake pedal hits to turn on and off the rear brake lights. I believe the one on my 81 k5 broke.

When mine died I got a new one from VatoZone for something like 7 bucks. Been working for almost 2 years now.

Why don't you just check out RockAuto.com and order a new one? I buy parts there all the time, and at least 1/2 the time they're AC Delco parts. Great prices too.

Yeah I just called Napa and they only have 1 for a manual transmission...I'm guessing It will work as I only have 1 2-prong connector hooked up to it and it was working fine.

Is there a difference? Which tranny are you running? The 700R4 cares about brake pedal position, but the TH400 doesn't, AFAIK.

I think there is a different one for cruise control trucks, but not sure. Don't know why an automatic would be different.

Cruise has a second switch on a separate bracket. Kinda weird, they wasted a lot of wire & 4 (ish?) separate modules implementing that CC system. :dunno:

Picture from tearing it apart a few days ago. The cruise switch (missing) also opens a vacuum line in addition to the electrical part.

(not sure what different switches are out there, this is a 700R4 truck with CC)
