Guys. When I was 14 years old I bought a 1967 Camaro in 1987 for $200. It was rough. Put a freeze plug in that needed to be replaced. Got it running and then sold it for 400 to buy a trans for my 72 Chevelle (it was in better shape than the 67) shortly after. I just found the same car and another 67 (shell with 9" and mini-tubs). The owner wants to sell them together. The car passed through 3 other hands and ended up with a friend of mine from highschool. They both need total restoration. He was going to use the other car as a donor to fix mine. Will sell for 4500. Should I sell my 90 k5 or trade him to get my car back? My truck gets almost 14 on the highway. No rust (as I replaced half the floor). Recently realized it has 3.08's not 3.73's. Has 1k worth of stereo in it. What would you guys do?

Ive always wanted a 67-68 camaro.

My blazer would get the boot as it stands right now if the opportunity arose.

You can always get another blazer... but the opporitunity to have your first car back doesnt happen very often, if at all

K5's are a dime a dozen (except for rust free one's)...the 67 Camaro will do nothing but increase in value

i regret selling my 67 Camaro about 6 years...my son reminds me about it as often as possible

the only reason i sold mine was because my friend that I bought it from 15 years ago was missing it...it had been his first car and he drove it through high school and college...i would never have sold it to anyone else

As I said it is rough. He has new door shells, new drivers fender, new trunk floor and driver side floor pans ready to install. He also has a new dash to cowl pan. It will need passenger side fender and both quarters. Like I said. Rough shape but he has a lot of new parts to go with. I could probably sell the other shell and find another blazer to drive. I might just do it. I do know where a 75 shortbed roller 4x4 is for 300 and a 73 3/4 ton 2 wheel dirve with 14bff and 454 is for 200 that I culd buy and start another 4x project. Both are rusted but all there.

I would say do it. Just keep tabs on your Blazer in case you end up wanting it back too.

$4500??? My neighbor bought a running 69 camaro for $5k last year all it needed was door panels and carpet. From your story doesn't sound like you had it long, are you really that emotionally attached? To me that's not your first car, that's what's left of your first car... The economy is bad right now if you have the cash you can find better... Just my $.02

this is the other car that comes with it. Plus 1600 in new sheetmetal I mentioned above. Plus all the original parts and pieces. I didn't have it very long but I sure dreamed about it before the guy finaly sold it to me.

Too much work needed to that one . You'll need deep pockets and a handful of catalogues .

X2. Its going to cost mucho $ for that build. If you take away that it was your first car would that change your mind? If so maybe check and see whats out there for sale that is more complete and hell even restored for that matter. It's usually cheaper to buy something already done IMO.

So you say it comes with ALL the original parts, plus new parts, right? Other than rust/faded paint/torn vinyl, was all the trim, emblems, brakes, suspension and other nickel and dime parts still decent?

I think that when people see just a rolling shell, they tend to get scared just because it ALL needs put together. Big deal. It just means a lot of the hard and dirty work is already done. If you have the time and know-how, and you don't need to replace everything that belongs on the car, it's just a simple mild resto.

everything. the original sheetmetal pus the new. the car never had the original engine so that doesn't matter to me. just the title and the shell.

X3. Gonna be an expensive and time consuming rebuild. I have seen rollers in bettter shape for a lot less. I'm gonna finish my K5 then build a Camaro or 'Cuda next.....leaning towards the 'cuda.
Gotta admit though, if I could get my first car back it would be a hard decision. '68 442
