Looking at a set of 1 tons that were linked for a jeep set up. Will I have to cut all the brackets off to weld new ones for a wider frame? It’s a Dana 60 no axles, calipers, or carrier. It has a hydro assist ram attached to it. 14 bolt with 5.13 and locker, disk brake conversion. Is it worth a $1300 bye and sticking under the K5?

$1300 seems awfully expensive considering the lack of brakes or shafts. I get the gears and locker but kinda useless without the stuff that utilizes them.

I agree. But I also have an extra carrier with 5.13 gears.

I got a complete Dana 60 front from a chevy 1 ton for $400 or $500. I don't recall now. It was setup for a dually but new hubs and rotors can be purchased and it will be a bolt in. The front brakes are impressive on the dana 60. My intention was to use this on the K5 build but I have taken a different direction and will keep it stock. At least for now.

If you're talking about using ORD link brackets the only ones you'd HAVE to cut off that 60 to make them fit are the tabs on each end, and probably that little bump pad or whatever is on the driver side, but everything on top would cause some clearance issues during flex.
