fr. 10 bolt diff cover magnet

right now i have the cover off of my front axle it's a 10 bolt. i know there is a magnet on my rear diff cover but my front doesn't have one. is there supposed to be a magnet there? it doesn't look like there has ever been one there before. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I didn't have one on mine either, but I put one in there last time I did my fluid. Got mine from a tranny shop.

No and I don't know if my front cover had ever been off before I did it.

if you have a gov-bomb in the rear, they have the magnet, open diffs didnt have magnets due to the fact that they didnt loose metal and explode like the gov-bombs did. thats what i can reccolect tho. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

thanks for the info. i went ahead and put it back on the way it was, i might get one the next time i change my diff. fluid just for $h1ts and giggles.
