I also have a full cage, connected directly to the frame at 14 points if memory serves. Body is also solid mounted along with the engine, trans and tcases. No soft joints anywhere. When mine flexes its strictly suspension.
You can tell when you ride in it too. No creaking or moaning and groaning. Smooth and solid.
Is there any advantage to having a solid mounted body? I know a lot of desert race guys do it but would there be an advantage on a street driven truck?
How about some refreshin' on them pics?
There was a guy that did the cummins swap in his truck here. He had videos and such of it also. Pretty cool truck. Not sure but i don't think he really had to box his frame...
I may be wrong though

I can tell you from experience, I had a 5.9l Turbo diesel in my K5 although cummins it wasn't it was the same power, weight and all...
After 3 years I had cracks in my frame in 6 locations, I tightened crossmember bolts every couple of months and still dropped a few crossmembers on trails, all from the torque and vibration of the diesel.
I still have the engine, the frame and body got scrapped and I am working on putting it on a 1 ton frame, still might do some bracing on key points where I know the engine will put some stress.
I wouldn't box the frame for this though, bracing is better, and a full cage makes for a good stiff frame too but doesn't resolve the issue with local vibration which needs reinfocement and bracing, IMO![]()
