Frame cracks...

Man you were lucky you weren't wheeling it when it happened.
Mine cracked like that and then the spring hanger in the front pushed up and the frame flipped up 90degrees.
Had to pull it back with a come along.
It took me all day when I got it home to straighten the frame so I could weld it and reinforce it.

I think it must have happened when I was plowing last year. I remember in the spring it had a whole lot of play in the steering. I figured it was play in the ends of the drag link. Didnt find out it was the frame until I went to put 4" front springs under it in June. On top of that, all the steering box bolts were about hand tight...one was halfway out.
It's been parked mostly since then, but I did take a risk and drive it the 85 miles from our property back to our house in October. I tightened up the bolts at least, but it was still interesting steering. I went slow and cautiously, especially when there were other cars near.
