1/2 ton status
Is there a difference between a 1/2 ton frame and a one ton frame? I am aware of the differences in the rear (rails are closer together), but is the metal any thicker or stronger? /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

The front section around the motor appears to be the same. The rear is not narower, it's the spring hangers that are different. The section under the cab is deeper,something like 11" compared to the smaller 8" section on the 1/2 & 3/4 ton frames. As far as actual metal content or thickness I don't know.
