I'm sure this has been covered before and I did a search and came up with nothing. Any difference between a 83 frame and 76 frame? Or maybe I should ask if my 83 body will mount on a 76 frame without major modifications.

I could be wrong, but I believe the only difference is the front of the frame where the bumper mounts attach. The 80 and down trucks have a rounded nose style frame end, the 81 and up looks like its cut off on an angle. I never compared bumper mounts, I dont know if the bumpers or bumper mounts are interchangeable.

Pre 78 there was no footwell behind the front seats, so the frame rises up to match the level of the rear floor about 12" ahead of where it does on the 78 and newer K5's. A 77 or older body on a newer K5 frame is somewhat easy, you just need to build a body mount bridge about mid body.

Going the other way requires a lot more work as the body's footwell would interfere with the frame. Easiest would be to channel the body in that area.
