Frame help Opinions please

Oh yeah if anyone is local and they want my old frame you are welcome to take it. It's at the frame shop right now and I should have back by Monday so let me know.

Thanks everyone for the input. I have someone on their way to pick up my frame. I'm excited and even more motivated now. Knowing I have a clean frame with no cracks and installing the ORD weld in brace, and bolt on brace will give me piece of mind. My build is going to be mild and respectable. Hopefully by next Wednesday I will have back from the sandblaster, and off to powdercoating. I will post pics of the progress so I can get input along the way.

I wouldn't do a weld on if it's not cracked, the welding will hurt the metal and make it brittle.
Just do the bolt on, it relocates the forces somewhere else and will not crack the frame at the box.

weld it on, you have the chance to put a doubler on a proven failed design why not take advantage and improve GM's ^%$#@-up.

Very true. Actually I just got my welding for idiots book so I am going to use it as my practice pig.

I am doing both the weld in and bolt on brace. I have the new frame at the frame shop getting both installed. I pick up Monday, then it is off to the powder coaters for some semi-gloss black.
