Well I was wondering I have my frame stripped down and am getting ready to be doing a lot of welding on it. I figured I should make sure it is nice and level and square before welding. Squaring is easy, but leveling, well were exactly do you check the frame for level (front to back)? It is an 83 if that makes any difference. Any advice????

Check out the Iron Maiden thread....many comments about it in there.

Have read your thread I am subscribed to it. Very nice build. I had read that post before but couldn't quite figure out where exactly you were leveling.

But I went back and checked again and I think I figured it out.:D

I put a small level on the frame rail about where the door would be. Its flat and long there. Then I leveled on the body mount crossmember in front of the rear axle.
After all was level, I made marks on the floor with a plumbob dropped from about 4 places on each side and recorded the measurements. Then I added bracing before cutting out all the crossmembers. And I've kept the frame pretty much level since, and it hasn't tweaked at all..........so far.

Good luck.
