This is what happens when you put ford shock towers on, and shocks that are tooo short. The shocks become limiting straps and tweak the frame, especially with the 52's up front.

The plates straightened it out pretty good, But I couldn't get to the bottom side to weld it because the headers are in the way, but I think the bolts will hold till the engine comes out this weekend. :D

Just kidding brian! :D

ANyway, I think it will hold.

And Brian, You need a new ball joint on the passenger side, the top one is toasted.

Cool beans, glad you guys got it fixed. Brian, I'm done with school for the semester so feel free to shoot me some cage thoughts.

sucks that it happened, but looks like you put some thought into it..i'd brace the bottom and inbetween the frame rails and anywhere else..i think it should be fine

The bottom is braced, it has a plate on top and bottom, I just couldn't get to the bottom to weld it, so it is just there with the 2 bolts.

my 86 chevy bent and cracked the frame there too. I plated like yours with 3/8 x 2" strap

Dude I thought we was gonna tackle this on Saturday :eek1:
Sneaky of you to do this while I'm away at work and to surprise me with the pics. Thank you Jason!:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

I'm seeing the pics but I can't believe it's done! I'm speechless... well, that kinda goes with my deaf ears but you know what I mean

I wanna clock out right now and have a beer!

:D:D:D:D:D:D

Will do. I've been a bit busy and sometimes a bit lazy to do anything so I'll get some stuff going and get the rough drafts scanned and sent to you.

Ouch! Hope your looking at longer shocks or at least limiting straps.

Yeah.. what happened was that I put the Ford towers on the day I was breaking up with my ex-g/f last March. After having them installed, I put the short shocks back on and packed my s**t and drove off.
Lived out in the desert for a couple months, wheeling and flexing and working six 10 hour days, eventually I forgot to replace them. Went to Moab and did two more AZ runs and didn't catch the cracks until they made so much noise.
Then I realized, oops. Anyway, lesson learned to replace stuff right away.

I have Bilstein 5150s coming in this week so it's all good.

Brian is so gonna get hosed up in a hole this season

After having the K5 sitting for a month? I don't think so.

I will go borderline to the bashing point but I will back off at last minute so the K5 can wheel another day. :D
In other words, I'm gonna baby the s**t out of it until it gets protection.
