Hi guys. I'm planning a frame up resto for my k30 as soon as I get back from the desert. Any trouble spots/prevenative measures I should hit while I got it all appart? I want to do this right and have a truck that will last me a long time. Lemme know what you guys think.
Thanks

im in the process of my body off on my k30 now, got the axles regeared while they were out, sandblasted and rustbulleted the frame, doin body work now, then rust bulleting the whole body outside, bottom ect. buildin engine.... prettymuch im replaceing everything thats a little worn out and rebuilding everything i can salvage. takes a while but itll be worth it in the end..

P.S. I thank you so very much for your service and bravery. words cannot express how grateful i am. be safe

steering box frame area and i would throw in an engine xmemberif there is one available.

I've heard about the steering box area on the frame alot but I've never actually heard what happens or what needs to be done to fix it! I plan to swap that 6.2 out for a mildly built 400 sb, so I think I should be able to find an x member pretty easily.
Thanks for the imput

the bolts that hold the steering box on the frame want to tear through the frame basically, it starts to crack at these holes. youve got to drill out the ends of the crack and "V" the cracks and weld them back in. after that you need a weld on brace as well as the bolt on brace for the best support there. both of these can be bought at the ORD website.
