I bought a 83 blazer and need a new frame I found a 87 blazer frame but Ive heard that it is different! I was wondering what is the difference?

i'm not sure - as far as i know they're the same.. may have to modify a cross member or something silly, but i doubt it.
but if you need a frame i have one. 1980 k5. it's missing the front bumper brackets -- couple inches torched off.. not a problem if you're making a custom bumper though. let me know if interested.

78-91 are the same...swap away.

K5 body mount/locations are the same from 78-91. Front horns may be slightly different from 78-80, than the 81 and newer. Original poster did specifically mention it was a K5.

I have a rolling chassis on e-bay for sale if you want it.... gotta buy the motor with it though. =) Just Kidding.... if all goes well tomorrow, I'll have to revise my listing since the motor will have been removed... the frame is solid though... you gotta pick it up.

Engine crossmember is also beefed up on the later ones, I'd say that's a trivial difference, but since I've seen more than one cracked...

So...what if I was looking to put a snow plow on a 90' K5. I was looking for 73' thru 87' Pickups OR 73' thru 91' K5's to strip a plow off of ....should I be looking for an 81 or later???
