I didnt think they would still have them available, but with such a price difference I dont know why you would go the dealer route anyway.

Because the aftermarket stuff is pure Taiwanese (or Thai) garbage.

If you want something right, that will last another 20+ years, get the dealer parts. Or, pay half as much for junk that you'll spend time trying to make fit, returning, and replacing in 2 years.

If Sof Seal or someone equivalent is selling it, it MIGHT be better quality. The LMC stuff I got was trash compared to dealer, not worth even half as much.

Some things you can buy repo knock off stuff. Some things you want Genuine GM parts. The factory made it the first time and in most cases lasted 20 years. I want them because I want an extra set for the next restore in ten years. I hope I am alive then but at least the truck will have the parts.

As many members have stated in other threads most of the after market parts do not fit good or just do not last. Some one bought an after market core support NEW and six months later it was stress cracking and rusted.

In my book if I can get it in Genuine GM I am willing to pay extra.

The only seals I have bought from LMC were for my windows and I dont have any complaints. Instead of buying seals for the top I just got a soft top.:D

FYI, GMPartsDirect.com has the door seals for $26 and change each last I looked... dealer here charges full retail. Paid $81 w/ tax for my tail gate seals:eek1: I guess thats okay.. GMPD didn't have them when I ordered:doah:

The OE seals are the best.

I price checked my local dealer here and was surprised that with my wholesale discount the price was about the same as LMC for genuine GM

TTT for new people looking at seals!

when i worked at a GM dealership the OEM parts always were a way higher quality than the after market so for the most part i try to buy the oem parts but thats just my .02 cents

like someone said earlier, GM parts will last 20 years or more...aftermarket ones will last 2

i bought LMC and they look old after almost 2 years...rubber cracking and window felts already worn..and my Blazer is not a daily driver
