I'm changing rotors on my 'burban today. Tight schedule. Would it be a good idea to warm the hub/rotor up after 14 degrees overnight before I go smacking on the studs and splitting the rotor from the hub?

Yeah I know this is a common sense issue but seems like the laws of nature have been going sideways for me lately.
I've never ran into an issue from the cold. Never had a shop to work in, so I have never had the option to warm anything up. But, if the laws are against you, it won't matter

LOL Thanks GW I've changed starters,trannys etc in arctic temps but never had to beat on cold cast. Never had a shop here either
I'm trying to change that. I would get so much more done!
I did this job on a S10 Blazer at -32F one day. No issues.
On a tight schedule I don't think I would care. I would warm em up so my hands didn't freeze when I touched em

If I had a shop jobs like this wouldn't be an emergency session at the last minute. I've got a 2 hour drive to a big job tomorrow. Figures don't it.......
I wouldn't worry about the temperature. But if you were concerned, this would be a decent suggestion.

LOL not when it's parked with a trashed bearing LOL. I got them apart and job with no problems....well....until the brake line wouldn't fit the calipers anyway...'burban was originally diesel with hydroboost, assumed JB/JD7 calipers were stock....another future upgrade I guess.....
Wait...your calipers are non-standard?
When I look up calipers I see the same part numbers for sbc and 6.2 trucks.

Campfire there were 2 choices- JB5/JD5 or JB7/JD7. I assumed mine would be JB7 since it was a 6.2 with hydro. I'd have preferred them anyway but the line ends aren't compatible. I exchanged them for JB5s but if I'd had time to research I'd have went to NAPA and bought brake lines for 3/4 ton instead.
