If I found a nice set of manual doors (and I think I have) but my 87 is a silverado K with full power, how much of a pain is it to dump the power stuff?

My doors and etc. don't work well with the power stuff anyway, but anyone here done this and recommend it...or should I continue searching for power equipment?

Pretty easy. The door locks and window harnesses disconnect under the dash on both sides. Disconnect those, feed them through the holes in the door jambs, done.

I'd recommend against cutting, people would probably be interested in the wiring harnesses/power doors.

OK. Fair enough. I'll start digging under the dash...ain't never been under there.

It doesn't cause a short or anything being "unused"?

You end up with four medium sized plugs hanging out under the dash, but the amount of effort it would take to remove them IMO isn't worth the hassle, unless you just cut them. Since they terminate in a plug now, if any of them tie into the fuse panel just cutting them COULD potentially create a situation for a short. Unlikely, but random electrical problems are not fun, nor safe.
