when i was tearing down my 10b to install 8 lug outers i noticed i had some bad things going on

i had water in my hubs and now rust too did not make it to wheel bearings but i will repack when i install with 8 lug stuff along with new axle u joints

my inner bearing in my spindle not sure what you call it anyway it went out and chewed up my stub shaft a little on my drivers side and passenger isn't much better

my question is should i just clean it up best i can or find a stock stub to replace it with or should i put some chromo stubs in it with my stock inners will they work together? i have the later 30 spline inners they are supposed to be a little stronger but i don't know how much

any thoughts other than a d60

If your spindle is a little chewed up I would replace it. With new inner spindle bearings
Should be ok repacking bearings and replAcing seals if they are good.

Are you talking about the inner wheel bearing, or the small needle bearing that is inside the spindle?

I assume the one inside the spindle as you said the shaft is a bit chewed up. Id just replace those bearings and smooth up that portion of the axle shaft. Its not a seal area and just supports the stub shaft.

Yea I am talking about the spindle bearing I am just worried about the stub being weaker because I am installing my 16/35/15 boggers

I found some used chromo yukon stubs are these any good?

I doubt that little bit of rubbing is gonna make it weaker. 35" Boggers are gonna take their toll on 10b shafts though if you drive it hard. They are heavy tires that grab at everything. Keep it open up front. I ran 37" SSRs on my 10b front for a long time. I broke a couple sets, but that was being hard on it.

No idea what brands are better. I always just ran OEM stuff cause they were cheap and plentiful and I was always Dana 60 hunting.

One thing to consider too if you only upgrade the stub and even the U-joint the weak point is still going to be the ears at the u-joint on the stock inner. Every 10b shaft I broke was at the joint. Inner or outer breaks then kills the other.

My front is welded. Lol and I am thinking about going crossover while everything is apart if I can do it cheap enough I need balljoints anyway

I concur with mtblazer, the stock ears are the weak point. I would consider modifying the stock axles for full circle clips or tack weld the caps and that should help them live a little longer. A welded 10 bolt will not be very happy with boggers.
