Has anyone tried to use the stock front spring hanger location with rear 52's? By moving the front forward and the rear forward I have to think that the length might be OK just putting the tires too close to the firewall. Would 0 rates fix this? Just trying to get started on my project and am looking to get it running as soon as I can.

Your post is kinda confusing, but if you mounted 52's in the front with the front hanger in the stock location, you will probably run into some issues with the rear spring/and or shackle hitting the front cab mount. Also the front axle will actually move back and your tires will be in the firewall

I have the stock springs from the rear and am trying to build it for cheep. I don't have any extra money to put into lift springs. I have also heard that it will flex more and ride better.

So far I have very little in this blazer.

Blazer $400
front D60 $600
36" tires and H1's $200
14 bolt rear $100
64" chevy springs $75

It has a good running 350/465/205 in it.

I had to sell my 2006 Unlimited Rubicon that was completely set up so we could buy a family car. I now have 2 baby girls. So I have to watch what I spend on this Blazer.

trade for 56s and just move the stock front hangar forward and leave the shackle where it is.

Super flexy springs like 52's really need crossover or full hydro steering, there's no point in having the flex if you can't steer the truck

That will come later as money permits. For now I will use the stock sway bar to control flex. I just need to get it lifted and I only want to do it once.

So how many leaves are you guys using? I want about 4" of lift. A little more or less is OK for now. I just don't want it to be too stiff. I know the overload has to go.
