Front axle in 2000 Chevy

My buddy has a stock 2000 Chevy 1500 4x4 and he was wondering what knid of axle was in the front. I couldn't tell him but I thought that someone here would know.

axle? there is a diff, and axle shafts but no live axle. Its a GM 8.25 IFS diff as far as I know.

Well I did know that it was IFS, but I didn't know what type of diff. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
