front axle question

would it be worth the effort to replace a front 10bolt w/ a dana 44? i don't do any hard wheelin w/ it.

Unless its got lower gears and cheap , no . Same strength basically . 10 bolts are a little newer and seems shafts are easier to come by .

I swapped 1/2 ton for 1/2 ton , but only for lower gears .
