Front axle question

besides the diff cover, is there any distinquishing marks on the axle to tell what it is? I am starting to wonder if I really have a D44, or if I have a 10b.

a 1975 would have a 44 front. on one of the casting webs on the front center section will be a little 44 and if it was a 10 it would have a GM.
the cover is the easist way to tell.

10 bolt looks ovalish round.. dana 44 looks like a ufo on it's side... /forums/images/icons/confused.gif
